Remember Ryan 18 Months Ago?

18 Months!

So much has happened since Ryan's first birthday! Ryan is now One and a half years old! He weighs 26 pounds(50-75 percentile) and is 33.5 inches tall (75 percentile). Ryan is doing all of the typical things an 18-month-old does...runs around, says more and more words each day, can point to many body parts, ect...
So here's a little about Ryan besides the "basic developmental" things. Although Ryan is not much of a dancer, Ryan obviously loves music because he cheers at the end of every song that he hears. He loves to be outside, either in the stroller or running around and kicking a ball. Ryan has no fear of dogs...if they lick him too much, he is not afraid to puch them out of his way (which we have to watch out for!) Ryan also loves to flush toilets...even knows the word "flush." He loves to blow kisses, and already says please and thank you!

Random Shots of Family Time

Ryan and Grandpa discuss the nation's current economic crisis, while Eric watches the SEC championship. Ryan loves his "Cha Cha" (Charlie)
Playing with Daddy's hat is one of Ryan's favorite games.

Poppo teaches Ryan all about trains during he and Nana's recent visit to Atlanta.

Big Boy Chair

Although Ryan really is an outdoor kind-a-guy, he has found one show he really watching on TV. It's called "Baby Boost Nursery Rhymes" on Comcast On Demand. It's the only thing he has watched that keeps his attention, and Ryan now knows the word "show" because he likes watching it so much! The chair from Auntie Laura and Uncle Brian has proven to be a great addition for our family room!

Happy Halloween!

Henry, Ryan and Cara get ready to go to a big street party near our house! Or should I say, Elmo, a lion, and Minnie Mouse?
Henry and Ryan....we asked Ryan where Elmo was and he pointed to Henry and said "Elma" (actually, he says Alma)

The school's parade of costumes!

Our sweet, sweet Charlie

Daddy and Ryan carve the pumpkin...

On of his Favorites

Ryan LOVES his truck! He loves to push it around the house, and he loves to ride it around the house. Whenever he does something he should not be doing, yo can say "where is your truck?" and he stops whatever it is he was doing and rides his truck!

What Ryan is Up To

It's been a while so I wanted to update you with what Ryan has been doing. He can say more words..."outside, apple (for all fruit), shoe, (a shooooooo) to name a few. He LOVES being outside. When we get home from school, he asks for "do" (juice) and then goes to the door and says "side" to go outside and play with his ball and toy lawnmower.

Ryan also LOVES Charlie. He loves his fluffy tail, putting his head on him, and getting him to chase him around the house.

Ryan has a best friend at school named Christian, and a boy named Jackson says Ryan's name all of the time at home, and calls me "Ryan's mom."

Nights have been an area that could use improvement! Ryan gets up pretty darn early, and usually still wakes up during the night at some point. But we think there is a big tooth coming in, so hopefully there is a light at the end of the tunnel!

We're looking forward to a great Halloween!

The Pumpkin Patch

Today was our second annual trip to the pumpkin patch. This time, Ryan walked a long way from the hayride to the pumpkins, so by the time we gt to the big pumpkins, he was too worn out for a good picture! But, we like our action shots (courtesy of Eric). Ryan liked the little pumpkins...he tried to eat them.

Since Ryan loves to lift large objects, he was thrilled to try to lift a pumpkin. It didn't work.
Ryan enjoyed pointing out the hayride..."Cah..." (Car)

Random Shots

Ryan and Henry enjoyed their time together at the "Kids Table" at Rosh Hashanah dinner.
After dinner, Henry showed Ryan his favorite Sesame Street video.
Eric practices what it would be like to have 2 kids with Darren and Ryan!
Ryan and Charlie have become good friends. Ryan likes to bring Charlie his bone to chew, or to feed him his snacks!

Nanna Comes!!!

Nanna missed Ryan so much that she came for a visit! It's been a couple of weeks since she came, but I have been so busy with my new job that it's been hard to catch up! We did a lot that weekend, but nothing compared to the purchase of Ryan's newest "Ballooooooon." Ryan also got a chance to meet Brutus the Buckeye during an Ohio State game...

Hurricane Ryan invades Chicago

We took a trip to Chicago to meet cousin Allison. Jen and Brian were brave to allow Ryan to stay at their nice condo! "Hurricane Ryan" gave them a taste of what is to come and showed Allison the ropes as far as how to tear apart a "just cleaned" home. Baby Allison is very cute, and Ryan showed that he knows what "baby" is because everytime we said "be sweet to the baby," Ryan would go and pat Allison on the arm.
Ryan now points to everything and makes a sound that sounds like "what's that" (although we really are not sure this is what he is saying, we just tell him what ever the item is that he is pointing to). He does this like 1,000 times a day!
At the park, there was a band playing for the kids. Ryan actually stood still to watch! This was a rare moment that we did not have to chase him around.
Another rare moment when Ryan was still was when there was a big display of blocks to play with. It was nice to sit and play for a while.
We were sad to say goodbye to Allison, Jen and Brian!

More Mountains

Ryan enjoyed browsing in the antique store in Brevard
Jody and Ethan having fun at the square dance in Brevard
Eric and David relaxing before dinner
Ethan and Jody
Ryan obviously had no problem with his sleeping arrangements!

The Mountains

Grandma and Grandma took the family on a vacation to the mountains in South Carolina! (yep, there are mountains in South Carolina!) We also spent time in Brevard and Asheville, NC. Ryan had a great time with his cousins Ethan and Noa.
After a day of hiking and shopping with the mothers, Ryan and Noa were exhausted!
We got to see lots of beautiful waterfalls! Ryan enjoyed an hour and a half nap in his stroller by the waterfalls as we pushed him up the mountain!
Grandma and Grandpa enjoyed having all of their grandchildren together under one roof!
Ryan learned the joys of being swung by mommy and daddy.

Centennial Park

In honor of the upcoming Olympics, we spent the morning at Centennial Olympic park! I played in the fountain with Ryan...he cautiously enjoyed it.

We went over to the grassy area and Ryan played with his favorite toy...his ball! Ryan loves to chase his ball around outside or in his playroom, and say "baaalll, baaalll"
It was an exhausting day...

Vegas, Baby, Vegas!!!

We spent the weekend in Las Vegas at a wedding...while we missed Ryan a lot, we still had a great time! I even won some money!!!

Our hotel, the Wynn was beautiful...we recommend staying there whenever possible!!!

Glamour Shots

Popo and Nanna came for a week and stayed with Ryan in Atlanta while we went to Las Vegas for the weekend. Grandma and Grandpa, Eileen and Mindy were so helpful!!! Before leaving, we went and had a photo session for Ryan's 1 year pictures! Poppo chased Ryan around the place while we picked out the pictures...
