Vegas, Baby, Vegas!!!

We spent the weekend in Las Vegas at a wedding...while we missed Ryan a lot, we still had a great time! I even won some money!!!

Our hotel, the Wynn was beautiful...we recommend staying there whenever possible!!!

Popo and Nanna came for a week and stayed with Ryan in Atlanta while we went to Las Vegas for the weekend. Grandma and Grandpa, Eileen and Mindy were so helpful!!! Before leaving, we went and had a photo session for Ryan's 1 year pictures! Poppo chased Ryan around the place while we picked out the pictures...

cookout!

Ryan enjoyed a cookout with his friends Henry and Darren. Here, Ryan sits in Darren's lap...a rare moment when they were sitting still!
While Darren played in the sandbox, Ryan just played from the outside. The highlight was when Ryan dove in head first with his mouth open to eat the sand...

One Year!!!!!

Although Ryan was sent home sick from Day Care, he really seemed to have a good night and a good birthday dinner. Hopefully, Ryan's fever will stay low and we can still have his 1 year check-up tomorrow! Today, on Ryan's first birthday, he walked from his Daddy to his Mommy...about 5 steps- the most so far! Ryan was very proud of himself.
Ryan can also waive, knows how to find his ball, his bottle, his dog Charlie, makes sounds with his mouth as a game, can stand well for a long time and loves opening and closing doors. Ryan has also bit the same child at day care 4 times while "playing rough." We weren't aware that 1 year olds played rough...We're working on this!

The Heatwave

What better way to enjoy record-breaking heat? How about going to Athens and getting his first taste of The Grill? Ryan had his first grilled cheese and fries from the best place to eat in Athens, and he even enjoyed some of Daddy's milkshake!
Ryan also enjoyed a little window shopping in Downtown Athens.
Later that night, Ryan had a date with Gabbi- she is very cute, and Ryan was happy to see her again!!!
The next day we went to Summerfest and bought a wind chime (yet another one for our porch). It was so hot that Ryan was actually willing to keep his hat on!
He cooled down in his swim suit.

Big Birthday Party (a bit early!)

We celebrated Ryan's birthday a little early so that all of his family could be there to celebrate! Ryan was so excited to have all of his grandparents together for the big day! He also had 18 of his closest friends, plus all of thier parents, some neighbors, and his family. We packed the house to celebrate with Ryan!
He started off eating his smash cake with only his left hand (a sign that he's a south paw like his mother?) But then, Ryan got more into it, and seemed to really enjoy the texture of the cake!



It should be said that what Ryan seemed to enjoy the most were his pre-birthday meal the night before at the Chinese restaurant, and his morning after breakfast in which he grabbed at my plate of hashbrowns and ate his heart out!
It was a great Memorial Day weekend!
